Description

Chris Gibbs is the owner of Los Angeles-based streetwear shop Union LA. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Gibbs moved to New York City after high school for university, where he studied for a teaching degree. During university, Gibbs met his now wife, who also introduced him to James Jebbia of Supreme. Having interviewed him, Jebbia subsequently brought him on as a store assistant at Union. After graduating, Gibbs continued working at Union, eventually becoming its store manager. Gibbs moved to Los Angeles after his marriage where he stayed on as a buyer for Union. In 2009, Eddie Cruz, owner of Union LA, Stussy and Undefeated, offered for Gibbs to take over Union LA, an opportunity which he took to craft Union LA into what is now his own select shop. Named as one of the “25 Most Powerful People in Streetwear” by Complex, Gibbs now lives in Los Angeles’ Cheviot Hills neighborhood with his wife and two children.
