Since founding and serving as Creative Director of 1017 ALYX 9SM, Matthew M. Williams has established a distinct contemporary utilitarian aesthetic, utilizing quality materials and a sub-culture tinged outlook to express his designs. 2019 saw the established creative continue to cement chest rigs and roller coaster clips in fashion history with a steady stream of reimaginations on the styles. This year also saw Williams lead ALYX into new territory with collaborations with Majocchi, Mackintosh, Nike, Blackmeans, Moncler Genius, Guidi and more, not to mention his personal projects with Kim Jones for Dior Men’s.
