If the fashion industry wasn’t paying close attention to Kerby Jean-Raymond before, their curiosity has certainly been piqued this year. The founder and creative director of Pyer Moss has only continued to nab high-profile acknowledgements since his New York-based label won last year’s prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in November. He’s since received Pratt’s “Visionary Award”, been added to TIME’s first-ever “100 Next” list and was recently named Person of the Year for the 2019 Footwear News Achievement Awards ceremony.

The designer had another huge breakthrough in July when he was announced as the artistic director at Reebok Studies__, an entirely new division at the company which will foster emerging creative talent under Jean-Raymond’s advisement. In September, he was appointed to the CFDA’s Board of Directors, and later that month, staged his highly-anticipated Collection 3 “Sister” runway show at New York Fashion Week.
