For graphic artist Brian Donnelly, also known as KAWS, 2018 allowed the artist to create large-scale works that brought his characters the BFF and Companion to cities like Tokyo, and Hong Kong. He produced much art during the year, even creating a light show for Seoul’s Lotte World Tower. For Dior Homme, KAWS provided a suited pink iteration of the BFF, selling on StockX for $9,999,999 USD. The rare Dior BFF would later reappear as a large-scale statue for the Spring/Summer 2019 Dior show. Working alongside Disney for a PINOCCHIO statue, creating graphics for the launch of Union Tokyo, as well as a full Sesame Street collection with Uniqlo — the year was not short of collaborative projects from the artist.
