la is a bad look
Aug 14, 2007 @ 11:37
those kicks are fairly nice but not nice enough for me to shell out 200. greedy bastards.

the Levis are way more expensive than the Pumas @ this point.

Aug 14, 2007 @ 21:20
Fairfax is the new Melrose...back in the 90's...

from what i heard it`s @ least 250 for the colored denim Levi's & 500 for the Alife x Levi 501 (i think) denim they had a while back
Aug 14, 2007 @ 22:15
so whos gonna be coppin them.
Aug 15, 2007 @ 01:08
Sorry, Chicago doesn't quite fit the major city catergory.

says the guy from miami
lmao
talk about a city being completely ignored by streetwear
how many boutiques yall got? 2? hahahaha
Aug 15, 2007 @ 07:37
Ebay is full of fakes and 12 year olds selling on ISS aren't going to have anything made before 2006, I guess it depends on what you're looking for.

some great deals on ebay and iss, you just have to weed through the crappy stuff.

whatever, not gonna judge rif because maybe theyll have some good stuff in the future. who knows, even flight club has some steals sometimes.
Aug 15, 2007 @ 13:52
It's amazing that no one has noticed what is going on just down the street from Alife between half-closed doors ... Bape is coming to LA and as soon as it arrives I'm booking my ticket to get over there ... Holla at your boy Nigo ...
Aug 15, 2007 @ 15:23
^i think bape shit looks like baby blankets...
Aug 15, 2007 @ 15:44
they are 200

And is there phone orders for people who dont live in these locations?

why does alife have stores in every major city but chicago

i think alife only has like shops in only 2 or 3 citiess (Vancouver, NYC, LA), hardly "every major city but chicago"
Aug 15, 2007 @ 16:48
i think alife shouldnt make to many store out here in the U.S

the more stores they make the less exclusive they things will be.
Aug 15, 2007 @ 19:26
ALIFE in LA is a good look I cant wait to see what kind of new stuff they
will offer up out there. I think this LA location is linked up with 222Gallery
out in Philly.
Aug 15, 2007 @ 20:47
alife came really correct with the new kicks last season. props!
Aug 16, 2007 @ 00:02
This whole exclusivity thing is starting to get annoying ... You can get Alife in Up Against The Wall ... You can get Stussy in Maceys ... You can Nike in a billion stores on the planet ... Good product is good product ... Who cares how much of it is made ... Go ask Ralph Lauren ... He'll tell you ...
Aug 16, 2007 @ 00:26
my question is, why does a brand have to be one way or the other? whats wrong with a brand having exclusive AND easily accesible items?
Aug 16, 2007 @ 15:10
exactly...
Aug 16, 2007 @ 15:27
alife came really correct with the new kicks last season. props!

i heard the kicks are licensed by a separate company out of canada
Aug 16, 2007 @ 15:41
they should make stores in the most imposible to find places like somewhere out in Maine or like down in New Mexico where no one will look
Aug 16, 2007 @ 16:45

untrue.. alife designs them.. they get made in foreign (brazil still i think?)..
they just have distribution run out of vancouver. and their sweats get made in vancouver too (cyc).. some tees did as well but i dont think so anymore. point is..... designed in nyc
Aug 16, 2007 @ 18:11
alife's shoes look sexy, just too bad that they fit so slim
Aug 16, 2007 @ 18:17

Ehh not what i heard...

why do you think the shoes are EVERYWHERE and the rest of their gear isn't?
Aug 16, 2007 @ 20:25

a. did you read what i wrote? or do you not understand what "distribution" means and how it could affect where you can find the shoes??

b. another reason why alife footwear is so much more widely available is because it is footwear. do you have any idea what footwear minimums are compared to t-shirt minimums? there's no comparison. it would be financially retarded/impossible for alife to release as many shoe models as they do and keep the #s really low

c. you can't deny they're made on foreign soil. look at the label

How does the design process go? You design them, then what?

Mostly I do the designs on my laptop, as I would anything else. If you look carefully, you'll see that the kicks have a clean, graphic-design feel to them... Anyway, after that, I send the sketches to the development office in Taiwan; receive the protos and correct them via photoshop and illustrator; email the changes and wait for the second round. Next come the salesman samples, production, financing and delivery. This is a very small operation and basically a one-man show. I'm involved in all aspects.
Aug 17, 2007 @ 00:12
LA needs an Evisu

How about a Self Edge on Fairfax? Would that be good enough?
blushing
Aug 17, 2007 @ 00:19
^ it would be better. the world needs another evisu store like it needs a nuclear war.

IM SORRY, but evisu is not what it used to be. ive seen it for many years and it has gone downhill.. first off its ugly as sin now, and second, most of what people see is the budget euro line. they still make some higher end stuff in japan but its not the same stuff they used to make... plus that brand is just too whored out.... they lost their direction.
