The Official Pure Blue Japan Thread

Aug 31, 2008 @ 00:12
Ohhh ok I see, so in terms of the leg opening measurement in comparison to how they list it on tobi.com would translate to 18.5 ...which is a bit looser than Thin Finns...but @ the same time I need some good Japanese denims and PBJs seem like the ones for me.

Are the XX-005 in black very hard to fade?

I'm sure being that this is a PBJ thread everyone is gonna be a PBJ enthusiast, but would y'all take PBJ > Eternal. I'm tryna narrow down my choices for my next pair of jeans

...and, is a pre-soak necessary w/ PBJs ??

Aug 31, 2008 @ 13:14
^yeah it is unless you get the 1 wash
Aug 31, 2008 @ 13:17
So if I rock a size 34, according to BiG, I should get a size 32 'cause the waist runs way smaller than your true-size in the pre-soak measurements. But if I soak them wouldnt they get even smaller and end up mad tight??

no the waist doesn't run small, get true to size. some people here and on sufu have even sized up 1. the only reason the measurements are bigger than the tagged size is because these are stf and shrink with a good soak.

so basically a 34 measures 36.5 but would shrink to 34 when soaked
Sep 01, 2008 @ 09:41
Would BIG be able to taper these?
Sep 01, 2008 @ 14:08
i dont think they taper, pretty sure they only do chain stitching just like selfedge.

damn, because im really feeling the PBJs but my waist size is 34 and the 8.75 leg is a lil bigger than what id want. thanks tho.
Sep 01, 2008 @ 22:13
if i order online could BiG shorten them for me?

yep, they'll hem to any length you want with the addition of chain stitch

i think my pair were 35 if i remember correctly. also, i'm 5'6" and my 39" inseam on my sexi04s stack only to my mid ankle. the inseam on these is nothig to worry about.

Little preview of my PBJs at 2 months
Sep 03, 2008 @ 01:45
If I were to go true to size on a pair of XX-005, would I still get a nice slim cut out of it?

Thanks.
Sep 03, 2008 @ 02:28
uhh yeah? youre supposed to go true to size
Sep 03, 2008 @ 09:04

Just got these Thursday afternoon. I gave them a 50 minute hot soak (slightly warmer than shower temperature). I sat in them for the first 30 minutes then let them soak on their own for 20 more minutes. Took them out and hang dried them overnight. They were still mildly damp in the morning so I wore them to school to dry on me. Still waiting for them to stretch out that last bit then they will be perfect.

I went true to size on these, tagged a 29 raw. I'm about 5'7 maybe 5'8 and 125 pounds.

I've already gotten those knee boobs though, fucking c cups dangling from my legs. Anyways, I can't wait to see how these turn out after whatever minor stretching they may do. Definitely slubby denim, this shit is coarse. Great jeans though, for sure worth the price
Sep 06, 2008 @ 14:01
those look perfect. I wish i got 29s instead of 30.
Sep 06, 2008 @ 14:12
Hah, maybe we should trade. I was just thinking how I should have gone up 1 to get your fit.
Sep 06, 2008 @ 16:53
if only haha

sams fit a bit looser because they taper lower. theyll fade faster too.

005s are slimmer and slubby. also, lighter weight making them more comfortable.

looks like my next pair of denim is 710s... i got 005black and i love em

my pair of tapered 005's at about two months.

-upper block is a little baggy/weird fitting, but from the knee down is pretty perfect.
-slubbiest denim on the market IMO - more than samurai - they're soft as fuck.
-if it matters, these are the OG model with the blue tab/selvage, not that ugly leaf.

i'm getting a 005's one wash. my waist is 30" around the belly button and i rocked 32 on LVC 55 501. what would be the best fit for me? are these low rise so i gotta measure my waist around the hip bone?
and i'm 5'6", should i shorten them?
