Vans has been a major influencer in sports, especially in skateboarding, surf and BMX. Straight from the Vans Vault is an all new Jungle embroidery series of Chukka 49s and Authentic LXs. Thick floral embroidery dominate the upper of both the Chukka and Authentic as well as the use of mis-matched laces. We’ve been waiting for quite a while for this sneaker. Here is the new Vans SK8-HI LX which is supposedly inspired by the British fashion designer, Paul Smith. This sneaker which has a predominately brown colorway has the playful Paul Smith inspired stripe pattern on the inner lining as well as the tag. Available now at Flauge for 12,600 Yen.
Vans’ original legacy was built on their liberal shoe making philosophy, as people often brought their own fabrics in to create interesting sneakers one off sneakers exclusive patterns. Vans’ popularity can only be compounded by their vast selection of footwear spanning both simple colored offerings to various prints and patterns. Among the latest is this graph paper inspired Era in both green and black colors. Check your local Vans dealer for availability.

In an opening reception today, Peter Huynh will present a series of works over various mediums of media. His style of over sized print-n-snipe street posters will capture Elex the bear against camo backgrounds, signifying rebel cohorts. The event sponsored by Vans, Status and UXA also includes special one-off US Military spec X-65 jackets, prints and Vans Chukkas on display.

Neck Face and skateboarding are like bread and butter. Ok, maybe that was a bad analogy but the young graf artist has hung out with some of Vans top skaters so it was natural for Vans to ask Neck Face to design some of their shoes. Here is a look at some upcoming Neck Face x Vans sample pictures we were able to get our hands on. Not much information on these yet other than that they will be released this year. Stay tuned for more info!
With the warmer months on the horizon, Vans Syndicate’s upcoming 007 Series release is set to release two upcoming packs in the very near future. The two themes for this collection include the Pendelton pack and the Grime pack. Based on their popular flannel, the Pendelton pack includes a three pack of Old Skools, Half Cabs and SK8 Hi’s. The Grime pack includes Slip Ons and Half Cabs. Look for these at your local Syndicate account holder.

The aptly named Vans Half Crepe features a crepe sole with some patterned uppers. The classic patterns include herringbone and plaid which translate well into a more refined look. Available at Flauge.
While virtually all models from Vans’ classic line of footwear have performed admirably, it makes sense for the upcoming release of the SK-8 Mid. The SK-8 Hi little brother carries a certain Chukka-esque feeling to it with the addition of the SK-8 Hi stripe and ventilation holes. Check for these at your local Vans dealer.

The legendary skater from the 80’s, Steve Caballero aka. “Cab” is the reason behind Vans’ Half Cab shoe. His signature shoe still sells like hotcakes as both skaters and fashion conscious folks buy the shoe to either skate in or just to look good. Here are some new Half Cabs for Spring 2008. Included in the bunch is a bright orange Half Cab, a burgundy red Half Cab and a white Half Cab with a black midsole. Available now at Flauge.
It looks like the San Francisco based skate shop, HUF, is currently working with footwear makers, Vans, for a new collaboration. Unfortunately there isn’t that much information other than the fact that they have chosen the Vans Chukka model for the collaboration sneaker and that there will also be a matching New Era 59Fifty Fitted Cap to go along side the shoes. Guess we’ll have just to wait and see!

Built on a solid foundation of minimalistic aesthetics, France’s APC are no strangers to sneaker partner ups, previously going to work with Nike on two tonal colored Court Traditions. For the upcoming 2008 Spring collection, APC has looked to Vans for an all white leather SK-8 High. Look for these to hit select APC accounts.

The most recent WTAPS x Vans Syndicate SK8-His No Guts No Glory were recently unveiled. Aside from the special M&M designed housewares and fixtures accompanying the release at Black Flag, t-shirts from Vans and WTAPS were also made available for sale.
