Arc’teryx is a Canadian outdoor clothing and sporting goods company founded by Dave Lane and Jeremy Guard, in 1989. Arc’teryx sells products associated with climbing, skiing, snowboarding, backpacking, and hiking-related activities. Over the years the brand’s designs have won a number of awards from Backpacker, Outside, Climbing, Men’s Journal, and Powder magazines.

2015

Using previous technologies and GORE-TEX®, Arc’teryx releases an advanced mountain footwear collection

2013

Releases the Down Composite Mapping technology

2010

Releases the Arc’teryx Veilance as the world’s most technical menswear

2007

Arc’teryx works closely together with W.L. Gore to field test new high performance textile products like GORE-TEX® Pro®

2003

Forms the Law Enforcement & Armed Forces (LEAF) division after the development of the ILBE pack for the US Marines

2001

Arc’teryx enters the ski & snowboard market with the Sidewinder Jacket

1998

Launches Microseams, which have 16 stitches per inch instead of the usual 8 stitches per inch
Launches WaterTight™ Zippers

Begins outerwear development

Using the same Vapor technology, Arc’teryx releases the Bora Series Backpack

1992

Releases the Vapor Harness, which would later become the company’s most popular item

1991

Rock Solid Manufacturing is renamed Arc’teryx, after the Archaeopteryx Lithographica, the first reptile to take a evolutionary leap by developing feathers for flight

1989

Rock Solid Manufacturing (now Arc’teryx) is founded at the foot of the Coast Mountains outside Vancouver, BC by Dave Lane and Jeremy Guard
