The decision officially brings an end to the eight-year-old Paris-based fashion label
Parisian fashion brand Coperni is closing its operations as co-founders Arnaud Vaillant and Sébastien Meyer officially shutter the label. According to statements shared by the designers, the main French operating entity Coperni SAS will cease all business activities after failing to resolve an ongoing dispute regarding unpaid sums and licensing terms with distributor and shareholder Tomorrow.
The shutdown follows months of mounting friction after Tomorrow terminated its existing licensing agreement amid unpaid debts, leading Coperni to seek commercial court protection in Paris earlier this year. Complications deepened following Tomorrow Ltd’s acquisition in March by Progetto 11, the holding vehicle for The Level Group. Although Vaillant and Meyer actively attempted to buy back their brand and regain control, unresolved governance disputes, financial strain, and the abrupt cancellation of the label’s Fall/Winter 2026 runway show ultimately forced an end to operations.
“These eight years have been extraordinary. Coperni has always been a collective adventure, and we are immensely proud of what we have created,” the founders shared in a statement, reflecting on the label’s journey. “As the world becomes increasingly challenging, particularly in the fashion industry, we believe there is still so much to create and reinvent. Innovation has always been our passion and a priority in everything we do. We look ahead with optimism and plenty of ideas, and cannot wait to share them with you.”
