REdDUO strips the vase back until almost nothing remains but the flower itself. Its new STEM VASE is conceived as an architectural framework for displaying a single stem, replacing the familiar enclosed vessel with a precise composition of steel planes and volumes. Two staggered prismatic forms rise vertically to support a tilted disc punctured by one small opening, through which the flower emerges. The arrangement gives the object a distinctly structural quality, somewhere between miniature architecture and functional sculpture, while intentionally leaving the organic form of the plant as the visual focal point.
Made entirely from steel and left in a steel finish, STEM VASE avoids decorative embellishment in favor of sharp geometry, exposed material and carefully balanced proportions. The angled upper disc introduces tension against the upright base, while the offset volumes prevent the silhouette from becoming overly rigid or symmetrical.
The construction makes the mechanics of the object immediately legible: every element appears to have a clear role in supporting and positioning the stem. REdDUO describes the design as one in which “structure and function are one,” an idea that gives the industrial-looking object its visual clarity while creating a deliberate contrast with the softness and irregularity of a flower.
STEM VASE is offered in two proportions, allowing the same architectural idea to shift in scale without changing its underlying language. The taller STEM VASE 01 measures 471 mm high by 120 mm wide and is priced at €795 EUR (approx. $890 USD), while the more compact STEM VASE 02 stands 337 mm high by 86 mm wide and is priced at €720 EUR ( approx. $806 USD).
