Three distinct pillars of Japanese streetwear converge as EVISU, mastermind JAPAN and roarguns join forces for a seven-piece collection that reinterprets their respective archives through a contemporary lens.
Rooted in a shared appreciation for craftsmanship and unconventional detailing, the collaboration brings together EVISU’s denim heritage, mastermind JAPAN’s signature monochromatic aesthetic and roarguns’ distinctive graphic identity. The capsule explores the relationship between construction and deconstruction, using distressed finishes, layered detailing and experimental treatments to revisit familiar silhouettes.
At the heart of the collection is a coordinated denim ensemble that combines EVISU’s iconic Daicock motif with its signature multi-pocket construction for the first time. Strategically distressed sections and torn pockets partially reveal the underlying Daicock artwork, creating a visual contrast between the garment’s structural complexity and its deliberately worn appearance.
The denim offering is led by a reworked Type II jacket, rendered in a textured black-overdyed wash with a relaxed, boxy silhouette that updates the classic workwear design. Its matching jeans carry the same reconstructed aesthetic, while Swarovski® crystals, metallic-thread embroidery and hand-painted-inspired graphics introduce additional layers of texture and contrast. Custom-developed metal buttons, branded leather patches and D-ring hardware further incorporate symbolic elements from all three labels.
Beyond denim, the collection explores vintage sportswear through a zip-up hoodie inspired by traditional after-hood sweatshirts, distinguished by its attached-hood construction. A layered waffle shirt introduces dropped shoulders and a pigment-dyed finish, while washed graphic T-shirts, a heavily aged denim cap and a messenger bag complete the lineup.
Priced between $90 and $1,285 USD, the capsule collection positions archival references and contemporary experimentation at the forefront, bringing three established Japanese design identities together through a shared focus on denim innovation, graphic expression and meticulous detailing. The EVISU x mastermind JAPAN x roarguns collection will make its exclusive debut at GR8 Tokyo today, followed by a global release on October 16 at 12 p.m. JST through EVISU’s official website and select EVISU stores worldwide.
