Summary

Aēsop unveils its Fragrant Fables Collection, merging botanical mastery with literary allegories.

New scent "Unforeseen Aer" explores imperfection via nutmeg and a “Pure Air” accord.

Bottles are redesigned with amber glass and features basalt-textured caps, removable atomizers and custom-printed poem packaging.

Aēsop merges its mastery of botanical extracts with a long-standing reverence for literature to unveil the Fragrant Fables Collection, bridging two decades of personal fragrance creation since the launch of “Marrakech.” Drawing inspiration from its namesake, the ancient Greek fabulist, the Australian brand has reimagined its signature range into fable-like allegories that pair philosophical questions with complex olfactory structures.

Each composition is built around a dual framework: a “Radical Ingredient” – a singular, unfiltered botanical extract that reveals surprising facets – and a “Fabulist Accord,” designed to evoke intangible or unscented elements in nature. Renowned favorites like “Tacit” return as “Tacit Truths,” exploring trust through crisp basil and a “First Light” yuzu-fennel accord. Meanwhile, “Eidesis” transforms into “Evoking Eidesis,” contrasting grounding sandalwood against a shimmering “Mirror” accord and “Aurner” debuts as “Entirely Aurner,” a bold celebration of nonconformity that layers herbaceous magnolia leaf over an iridescent “Silver Ore” base.

At the center of this release is a brand-new scent, the “Unforeseen Aer,” an eau de parfum that poses the central philosophical question: How can change enrich us? Inspired by a fable of a gentle wind learning to embrace the sublime chaos of its own wild gusts, the fragrance offers a nonconformist take on the classic fougère family. The composition opens with a crisp, elevated “Pure Air” Fabulist Accord composed of geranium, lavandin and rosemary, evoking alpine winds rushing across rugged, uncharted heights. This airy, pristine freshness is juxtaposed against the Radical Ingredient of nutmeg, which injects a textured, spicy warmth that celebrates the beauty found within moments of imperfection. The resulting aroma is energizing yet deeply grounded, wrapping the wearer in a mood of quiet contemplation and adventurous momentum.

To complete this literary and design narrative, the collection introduces an elevated iteration of Aesop’s iconic amber glass bottle. The vessel features a taller form with a domed base, stamped with metallic amber typography, an embossed glass insignia and a tactile cap inspired by the basalt rock indigenous to Melbourne. Enhancing its sustainability, the bottle is equipped with an easily removable atomizer for streamlined recycling. Each fragrance is housed in a box printed with its corresponding fable-like poem, inviting a quiet moment of reflection before application.

Other fragrances in the collection, such as “Eternal Karst,” “Above Us, Steorra” and “Rozū Arises,” continue Aēsop’s tradition of pairing botanical complexity with philosophical inquiry. Together, they form a constellation of scents that provoke thought as much as sensation, with the first phase available this month via Aēsop stores and the official website, while the remainder will follow in February 2027.
