LEGO expanded its Formula 1 Helmet Collection with a 931-piece tribute to three-time World Champion Ayrton Senna. The set, designated as number 43024, recreates the unmistakable yellow helmet featuring the green and blue stripes of the Brazilian flag. Unlike several previous entries in the series that relied on a shared modern template, this model uses specific build techniques to mirror the more rounded and compact profile of era-appropriate racing headgear. The Ayrton Senna Helmet specifically celebrates the driver’s legendary 1988 season where he secured his first World Drivers’ Championship behind the wheel of the dominant McLaren MP4/4.
The collectible kit introduces several premium details designed to satisfy hardcore motorsport enthusiasts. Builders will find printed versions of period-accurate sponsor graphics, including the vintage BOSS emblem and the now-defunct Nacional bank logo. For the first time in its brick history, the brand developed a new technique to print directly on the back of a motorcycle helmet element. This commitment to accuracy elevates the display piece beyond a simple toy, turning it into a genuine piece of racing memorabilia that honors a silhouette instantly recognizable from across a room.
Beyond the primary build, the package includes an exclusive Ayrton Senna minifigure depicted with a partially unzipped race suit revealing a graphic t-shirt underneath. The shirt features Senninha, which is a beloved cartoon persona created by Senna himself to inspire children in his home country. The minifigure is accompanied by its own miniature matching headpiece and can be positioned on the included display base right next to a printed signature plaque. This pairing adds a highly personal touch to the build, bridging the gap between the man and his larger-than-life motorsport legacy.
Set for an official release on September 1, 2026, the commemorative project joins a modern LEGO Editions lineup that already includes grid mainstays like Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. Taking a step back into the history books provides newer fans a tangible connection to a driver whose cultural influence remains unmatched. The set is currently available for preorder through official brand channels and major retailers for $89.99, giving buyers plenty of time to assemble the piece before the real-world Brazilian Grand Prix later this season.
