The ‘House of Hot Takes’ Was the Place to Be for London’s Football Community
From a fantasy photobooth to a fiery fan debate, here’s a look back at the event powered by ChatGPT.
Last month, Hypebeast and ChatGPT called on the sports community to celebrate the summer of football at a special watch party hosted in East London’s Kachette venue.
Unlike any usual fan event, House of Hot Takes was fuelled by controversial opinions and daring perspectives on football’s most talked-about topics. Through a unique debate segment, hosted by DJ Shaq, sport journalist Felicia Pennant, broadcaster Oré Olukoga, content creator Shay Gunner and presenter Enoch Freeman devised their arguments – with a little help from ChatGPT – touching on off-pitch fashion, player publicity, football trims and more. The crowd then responded to the hot takes presented with a flurry of questions and a display of red and green cards.
As the debate wrapped up, the four speakers joined attendees in the adjoining room for drinks supplied by evian, Peak, Budweiser and Badwater Tequila. Here, a ChatGPT Images photobooth was set up to turn attendees’ headshots into retro football portraits. The evening ended with a showing of the England v Ghana match where guests pulled up bean bags, tucked in to food from Wingstop and took in the action on the big screen.

Before taking the stage at the party, Pennant, Olukoga, Shay and Freeman turned their casual opinions on football into a full-blown presentation using ChatGPT. In this episode, we see the speakers research their takes, generate supporting imagery and finesse their language ahead of their debates.
