Renowned auction house Goldin has officially launched its Pokémon 151 auction, a limited-lot showcase honoring the rarity and historical significance of the franchise as it celebrates its 30th anniversary.
Following its recent record-breaking $16.49 million USD sale of Logan Paul‘s Pikachu Illustrator card, Goldin continues its momentum in the trading card space. The newly opened 151-lot Pokémon auction features an array of astounding artifacts, led by the 1998 Pokémon Prototype Test Holo #009 Blastoise. Known as “Protostoise,” this Wizard of the Coast English prototype sits at lot #1, features a Magic: The Gathering card back, and is the first of its kind ever authenticated by PSA.
Other marquee highlights include the 1997-98 Pokémon Japanese Promo 2nd Tournament Trophy Pikachu Gold #1. Awarded during the franchise’s earliest competitive era, this piece features original artwork by Mitsuhiro Arita alongside his authenticated signature and hand-drawn sketch. The sale also presents the elusive 1999 Pokémon Japanese Promo Secret Super Battle No. 1 Trainer, a WATA 9.6/A++ graded sealed 1998 Pokémon Red Game Boy game, and an intact Topps Chrome Pokémon Series 1 Tekno uncut sheet. Further rounding out the elite offerings are silver and bronze Trophy Pikachu cards and a CGC PRISTINE 10 Holofoil Kangaskhan from the 1998 parent-child tournament.
The Goldin Pokémon 151 Auction is open from now through March 8, 2026, via Goldin.
