Summary
- Logan Paul is auctioning his $5.3 million USD PSA 10 Pikachu Illustrator via Goldin Auctions
- The sale includes the bejeweled chain from his WWE debut and personal hand-delivery
- Bidding has already surpassed $2.1 million USD during Pokémon’s 30th-anniversary year
In the 30th-anniversary year of the Pokémon franchise, YouTuber and WWE wrestler Logan Paul is auctioning the world’s most expensive trading card. The record-breaking PSA 10 Pikachu Illustrator, which Paul famously acquired in 2022 for $5.3 million, was listed on Goldin Auctions on January 5.
Starting with an opening bid of $1.3 million USD, the auction has already surged to $2.1 million USD at the time of writing, with over a month of bidding remaining. To commemorate the sale, Paul released a video detailing his decision to part with the “grail” to mark Pokémon‘s milestone year. The card is one of only 40 copies ever made—awarded to winners of a 1998 Japanese art contest—and this specific example is the only one in existence to receive a perfect PSA 10 rating.
Notably, the card will be sold alongside the custom bejeweled chain Paul wore during his WWE debut at WrestleMania 38 and his recent bout against Anthony Joshua. In an ultimate collector’s experience, Paul has pledged to hand-deliver the item to the winning bidder. Check out the video below.
