Back in October 2025, ONE OK ROCK officially brought the high-octane energy of their DETOX European Tour to Berlin’s Max-Schmeling-Halle. As part of their most ambitious European run to date – spanning 16 cities including Hamburg, Cologne and Munich – the Japanese icons delivered a setlist packed with career-defining hits and fresh cuts from their latest album, DETOX. Following one of the wildest and most spirited shows of the circuit, the band granted Hypebeast an exclusive, intimate look at what an average tour day looks like for a global powerhouse.

Life on the Road: The Tour Bus

Leading the day’s walkthrough was bandleader and guitarist Toru, joined by bassist Ryota and drummer Tomoya. Far from the typical “rockstar” bravado, the trio provided a candid tour of their mobile home for the tour. The atmosphere was grounded and humorous — the kind of natural chemistry born from over 15 years together alongside lead singer Taka.

The tour began in the “living room” on the bus’s lower deck, a communal hub where the group gathers for morning coffee, quiet lunches or post-show debriefs over wine. Moving upstairs to the back lounge, Ryota and Tomoya showcased the space where they focus on digital curation, editing photos and videos for social media. The tour took a comedic turn in the sleeping quarters, where the trio shared a laugh over the broken headboard on Tomoya’s bunk — a testament to the unglamorous, brotherly reality of life on the road. Following the bus tour, the group headed back into the venue for rehearsals and final preparations.

The Wardrobe: Vintage Grails and Indie Gems

Backstage, Taka joined the group to dive into their on-stage aesthetic. In a departure from many major acts, ONE OK ROCK eschews professional stylists, preferring to remain hands-on in every stage of production. The band’s wardrobe is curated by Ryota, whose keen eye for photography translates into a sophisticated sense of styling.

The aesthetic for their DETOX tour is a curated blend of vintage, punk and grunge. Taka’s look featured red plaid slim-fit pants and a distressed graphic tank top, layered under a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier “Americana” denim jacket. While the band sources their own vintage pieces, Taka noted that many pieces from their tour wardrobe also come from collaborations with close friends and brands. This includes the “ultimate performance shoe” – the ASICS-ONE – which was engineered by the brand specifically to match Taka’s high-energy stage movements. His unique tour variant features reflective iridescent flame motifs against a sleek black upper.

Toru’s look centered on a custom-tailored checkered set by indie Japanese label Matsufuji, styled with a sleeveless band tee and ASICS SKYHAND OG in “White/Black.” For Tomoya, whose high-intensity drumming demands maximum mobility, the go-to uniform consisted of an oversized Atlas-print tee and faded maroon wide-leg shorts with an all-over tattoo-style graphic. He rounded out the look with a handful of silver jewelry, including a “lucky charm” pendant he endearingly named “Mi,” and a pair of well-worn AIRWALK Classics Enigma Low tops.

Meanwhile, the “stylist” himself, Ryota, opted for a tonal, color-coordinated ensemble: a Pantera “This Love” band tee paired with ocher-yellow trousers and the ASICS Novalis GEL-TEREMOA in “Medallion Yellow/Honey.” His standout accessory was a beaded necklace from an indie brand founded by a friend, which he treats as a personal talisman for the stage.

What’s Next: The DETOX Asia & Australia Tour 2026

The DETOX journey is far from over. Beginning February 21, 2026, ONE OK ROCK will embark on an extensive three-month leg across Asia and Australia. Starting in Bangkok, the tour will hit major hubs including Seoul, Manila, Singapore, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. While the leg consists mostly of indoor arena dates, the band is set for massive stadium performances in Taipei and Shanghai, along with a highly anticipated two-day outdoor show in Hong Kong — the only outdoor engagement of the entire leg.
