OMEGA has unveiled two new Speedmaster Moonwatch models that reinterpret the brand’s most iconic chronograph with a bold “reverse panda” dial design. These references utilize a sophisticated double-plate step dial construction, featuring a polished black top plate with a deep lacquered finish and contrasting white lacquered subdials. This monochromatic theme is framed by a black ceramic bezel ring featuring a tachymeter scale filled with durable white enamel, all protected by a box-form scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
The 42 mm model is offered in two distinct material choices: a classic stainless steel version and a luxurious model crafted from OMEGA’s proprietary 18k Moonshine Gold. The steel variant features rhodium-plated hands and markers, while the Moonshine Gold version utilizes 18k gold for its hands and hour markers to complement its long-lasting yellow gold alloy case. Both versions are fitted with polished-brushed bracelets that include OMEGA’s patented comfort release adjustment system, ensuring an ergonomic fit for the wearer.
Powering these chronographs is the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, the modern successor to the legendary movement trusted by NASA astronauts on the lunar surface. This manual-wind movement meets the industry’s highest standards for magnetic resistance and precision, backed by a comprehensive five-year warranty. The stainless steel model is priced at $10,400 USD, while the Moonshine Gold version retails for $49,300 USD. Both timepieces are available now through OMEGA as part of its permanent collection.
