Collingwood Welcomes a New Rooftop Bar: Slowpoke Lounge & Lookout
Featuring playful cocktails with a nostalgic twist against skyline views.

Melbourne’s bar scene—specifically in Collingwood—just got a whole lot quirkier with the arrival of Slowpoke Lounge & Lookout. This offbeat rooftop venue that just opened earlier this month is perched atop Zero Gipps on Gipps Street.
Co-founders Bradley Wynne, Gabe Neri and Dustin Hefford have channeled their combined experience in event production, brand development and immersive experiences into developing a venue that feels both familiar and unexpected. As a result, the rooftop spot is a nostalgic yet stylish retreat where guests are encouraged to embrace their quirkiest selves. Inspired by Looney Tunes’ Slowpoke Rodriguez, the bar’s laid-back charm invites visitors to slow down, connect and enjoy.
The interior combines clean mid-century modern lines with the rawness of Brutalism and the glam of 1970s Italian design. The space feels like stepping into a friend’s eccentric yet effortlessly cool living room.
Meanwhile, the crafted cocktail menu by veteran bartender Harry Costello, known for his tenure at iconic Melbourne venues like Bar Romantica, includes offerings that arrive in the form of a Hazelnut Espresso Martini, a Coconut Margarita and a standout Picante, featuring house-infused honey for the perfect hit of sweetness and spice. For non-alcoholic options, the house-brewed Iced Tea and homemade Spiced Lemonade offer equally enticing alternatives.
Slowpoke Lounge & Lookout is open from Thursday to Sunday. Head to their official website for more info.
