Just a few weeks out from the Chinese Valentine’s Day (Qixi) celebrations, Louis Vuitton has opened its very first luxurious chocolate store in China. Only its third store for the maison, with previous branches within LV Dream in Paris and at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands, the latest expansion takes Louis Vuitton’s Le Chocolat Maxime Frédéric to Shanghai.

Located in the Taikoo Li Qiantan shopping mall, the store lands just in time for Qixi, which is celebrated in early August this year. The shop is the epitome of sweet luxury, bringing Louis Vuitton’s signature house codes to its confectionary branch. The chocolate shop takes on an interior reminiscent of a tropical garden. Wooden trunk displays line store from floor-to-ceiling, giving the store a warm ambience. LV’s signature Vivienne mascot and The Petula pet lion stand front and center to give the setting a playful environment.

Of course, all the chocolate offerings sold at the store are stamped with the recognizable Louis Vuitton motifs. Each of the products are flown in directly from Paris where quality is ensured to be at its most premium, along with craftsmanship and attention to detail. The chocolate shop is located in a petal monogram-shaped space in the heart of the mall. Chef Frédéric released a statement regarding the expansion, “We want to get inspiration from local culture and lifestyle. In the future, we will definitely bring some customized creations for Shanghai, such as for Chinese New Year. It’s also important to share the happiness and joy of these exquisite chocolate treats. Because the most important ingredient of a piece of chocolate is love.” Those in the area can find the chocolate offerings available between $30 to $448 USD. The store is open to the public starting on July 23.
