Jacquemus Reveals Its Newly Designed and Picturesque Office
Enlisting OMA for the architecture and interior design and featuring famous artworks from the likes of Aristide Maillol, Wolfgang Tillmans, David Hockney and more.
Jacquemus has a new office and it is officially open for business. Making it home in the 8e arrondissement in the city of Paris, Simon Porte Jacquemus enlisted architecture and design firm OMA. OMA has had a long-standing reputation for major works around the world. In 2023, OMA installed famous “Jewellery Box” atop the Tiffany & Co. NYC flagship. Bringing Simon’s surrealist vision to life, the dreamy office space is a direct extension of the designer’s inspirations and signature aesthetic.
The centerpiece at the office is the Sculpture, L’Air (2e état), 1938–1939 by French sculptor and painter Aristide Maillol. Born in the 1860s, Maillol has been known for his work for sculpting powerful and balanced statues of the female body, different from the sculptures that were popular during his time. Other pieces from Maillol are also found in the office space including the “Nu féminin couché de dos Dina (1942),” “Nu assis” and “Nu debout” paintings. All the artwork in “THE OFFICE” of Jacquemus are all curated by Simon himself and includes pieces from David Hockney, Wolfgang Tillmans.
The new office building appears to a multi-functional space. With a custom coffee station and multiple versatile dining and meeting rooms, the office brings Jacquemus’ South of France aesthetic, to the capital of France. A dreamy spot that sees the entrance draped in a white veil, on theme with the most recent “LE MARIAGE” collection. Conversation pits, private meetings and the computer room all fall into the unique minimalistic taste of Simon. With asymmetrical arched interiors and curved corners throughout the space, the soft edges of the inside contrast the traditional structures of building’s exterior.
