Julia Garner To Join Marvel's 'The Fantastic Four' as the Shalla-Bal Version of Silver Surfer
The film has a planned release next summer.
Julia Garner is officially set to join Marvel‘s upcoming film, The Fantastic Four. According to Variety, Garner joins the cast as a version of Silver Surfer known as Shalla-Bal.
Garner’s co-stars include Pedro Pascal who plays Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm aka Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm or Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, aka the Thing. While production is set to begin this summer, the release will be scheduled for summer 2025. Matt Shakman is to direct the film with a screenplay from Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, Ian Springer and Eric Pearson.
The last time Silver Surfer hit the big screens, it was portrayed by Doug Jones and voiced by Laurence Fishburne back in the 2007 film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Marvel has not yet confirmed how Silver Surfer will be incorporated into the storyline. Garner has previously been known for Netflix title, Inventing Anna as well as her role in Ozark. The Fantastic Four is slated to release on July 25, 2025.
