La MJC x Mizuno Mondo Control "Matière Grise" Serves Up Sporty Parisian Elegance
Commemorating the fifth anniversary of Club 75.
Michael Dupouy‘s La MJC and Mizuno have teamed up once again for a special Mondo Control “Matière Grise,” or “Grey Matter” in English. Celebrating the fifth anniversary of Dupouy’s Club 75, the ’90s runner serves up a healthy dose of sporty elegance that’s sprinkled with La MJC’s signature attention to detail.

Using white and tan as the base tones, the “Matière Grise” upper is built from mesh, suede and leather. This simple mix of subtle hues and familiar materials is quickly offset by bold, alternating detailing on the large Runbird logo: pink with purple trim on the lateral side, purple with pink trim on the medial side. Tongues and heels alike are done up in grey leather, and alternate their branding as well. The left foot uses a Mizuno mark on the tongue and a La MJC hit on the heel, while the right foot inverts this placement.
Under each La MJC embellishment sits “Vivre Sans Temps Mort” — the brand’s signature catchphrase, which when translated to English stands for “live without dead time, enjoy without barriers.” Branding is finalized by a small embroidered Mizuno hit on the lateral forefoot and luxurious purple leather insoles that feature each party’s signature mark. White EVA foam midsoles, grey plastic support shanks and grey rubber outsoles round off the look.
The La MJC x Mizuno Mondo Control “Matière Grise” released earlier in the month at the Club 75 flagship store in Paris, and is set to hit retailers like Hanon on July 10 with a retail price of £120 GBP (approximately $150 USD). Dupoy has stated that a “vast majority” of the shoe’s proceeds will be donated to the Pasteur Institute, an esteemed research center, to battle the COVID-19 coronavirus.
Moving from retro running to classic hoops footwear, Jordan Brand‘s Air Jordan 11 Low IE recently surfaced in a “Black Cement” colorway that pulls heavily from the iconic Air Jordan 3 of the same name.
