UPDATE (October 1, 2019): After delaying the album twice before, Kanye West’s Jesus Is King has been delayed once again until further notice, this time with no release date given. As reported by TMZ, sources close to Ye have shared info regarding the album’s completion, “but Ye keeps tweaking it. Every time he listens, there’s something he wants to change. We’re now told there’s no release date anymore.”

The news follows a variety of listening sessions in Detroit this past Friday, Chicago this past Saturday, and on Sunday in New York City, including a variety of merch releases for the project, as well as the announcement of a new Nick Knight-directed IMAX documentary. The news remains disheartening for many considering the spiritual predecessor to the forthcoming project, YANDHI, had seen delays for nearly a year before eventually disappearing completely. Just as fans had hoped for Kanye to pull through on new material after multiple delays and a massive run-up to the release of Jesus Is King, the project has once again been delayed, this time indefinitely.

UPDATE (September 28, 2019): After the commotion surrounding the drop of Kanye West’s Jesus Is King, Kim Kardashian has confirmed a September 29 release date for the album. “Kanye’s doing a listening session in Chicago tomorrow, then NYC Sunday. He’s dropping the album Sunday,” she wrote on her Instagram stories. “Just a few final tweaks to the mixes.”

UPDATE (September 26, 2019): Despite numerous confirmations, a source close to the situation tells Variety that Kanye West’s highly-anticipated album Jesus Is King will not be dropping on its original release date. Further reports state that West and Def Jam recently held a meeting in Wyoming regarding the album, but the contents or any finalized decisions from that meeting have not been confirmed.

Regardless of the rumor, wife Kim Kardashian took to Twitter to continue promotion of the new album. The entrepreneur and reality show star retweeted “2 more days Jesus Is King” from the handle @colinags, an account followed by West.

The 12-track project, first teased by Kardashian and subsequently confirmed by West himself, is slated for a September 27 release.

ORIGINAL STORY (September 17, 2019): Following Kim Kardashian’s social media teaser and a subsequent reveal on Kanye West’s official web site, the multi-hyphenate artist has finally confirmed the release date for his highly-anticipated album Jesus Is King.

During his appearance in Batesville, Indiana, West took the stage to confirm the project is on the way. “Jesus Is King is out September 27th, so let’s continue this…” West can be heard saying in the video posted below, to which the crowd responded with a loud cheer. From the tracklist shared by Kim, fans can expect the tracks “God Is,” “Baptized,” “Sunday,” and “Sweet Jesus.”

West was in town to show support for a family band, Infinity Song and singer Victory Boyd, who are signed to Roc Nation. The artists were trying to raise money for their upcoming tour and managed to gather $3,500 USD.

Keep it locked here for when Jesus Is King officially lands.
