Throughout the majority of his professional career — these last few months in particular — Kanye West has continued to make headlines for his highly-controversial topics of interest, one being his baffling association with President Trump. While peers have been quick to jump on social media to voice their collective displeasure with Ye’s antics, adidas has stayed relatively quiet — until now that is.

Considered one of adidas’s most prized collaborators, the sportswear giant’s global CEO, Kasper Rorsted, recently spoke with the Business Insider to share his thoughts on Kanye’s recent spats. Short of agreeing with the enigmatic artist’s erratic behavior, Rorsted did acknowledge Kanye’s questionable exploits, however, chalked it up to his creativity, citing “When you engage with people of very high creativity, they are different in the way they act. How they behave. That’s part of the equation, what they bring to the entire table. That they are so different. If you want the mainstream, you get the mainstream all the way.” He later added, “If you want the ultimate creativity, then you get that, and you have to live with the fact that sometimes some person will say something that maybe you don’t subscribe to, but there might be others that do subscribe to it.”

As far as political views go, the head honcho touched on why adidas chooses not to side with any one party, saying, “Frankly, we can’t have a view on politics. There’s 75 countries [that Adidas does business in], by default you have 75 different governmental systems.”

What are your thoughts on adidas’s way of thinking? Meanwhile, in other Kanye West news, check out his meeting with President Trump at the White House.
