First announced earlier this week, Moncler Genius took to Milan Fashion Week to debut its initial Spring/Summer 2019 collections. Instead of bringing along the clothing, the brand elected to host a projection-filled exhibition, showcasing new gear from the likes of fragment design and Craig Green.

Encompassing a host of immersive videos, the showcase offered a first look at the new Genius collections. As guests walked through an emptied-out industrial building near the Fondazione Prada, they glimpsed new lines from — in order — Craig Green, Noir Kei Ninomiya, fragment design, 1952 and Simone Rocha. Each presentation was distinct, with special lighting and sounds helping to create a truly involved experience.

Craig Green’s avant-garde creations recalled some of his past sculptural designs, with Moncler’s technical fabrics deconstructed and pieced back together into new shapes. Ninomiya presented a similarly off-kilter variety, with the videos digitally rebuilding models who wore the designer’s intricately-layered, textural designs. Hiroshi Fujiwara‘s fragment design opted for a more visceral happening, highlighting his heavily-branded designs in motion and with animated speed lines. 1952’s presentation was all about warm, retro colors, which contrasted starkly with Simone Rocha’s muted display — an unlit room placed emphasis on Rocha’s feminine, Victorian creations. After the main event, guests took to a nearby courtyard for drinks.

Most recently, Fujiwara joined Red Bull Japan for Major Force Be With You.
