Google's Fitbit Air Special Edition Pokémon Sleep pairs the tracker's sleep monitoring with the Pokémon Sleep app for Pokémon's 30th anniversary

Google Health tracks light and deep sleep stages and runs the data through its Coach for personalized guidance

Sleep duration recorded on the device converts into in-game Drowsy Power that builds Snorlax's Strength and unlocks rarer Pokémon

Google‘s Fitbit Air Special Edition Pokémon Sleep is a wearable built to make your overnight tracking do double duty, feeding the same sleep data into Google Health and the Pokémon Sleep app. The special edition takes the standard Fitbit Air’s sleep-tracking hardware and wraps it in a Pokémon-themed package timed to the franchise’s 30th anniversary, turning nightly rest into both health metrics and game progress.

The hardware follows the original Fitbit Air’s comfort-first brief. The tracker is designed to sit light and effectively unnoticeable on the wrist for around-the-clock wear, which matters most when the device is meant to stay on through the night. A micro-adjustable band lets wearers fine-tune the fit before sleep, and the special edition arrives in a “Sleepy Blue” colorway with a custom silk print label of Sleeping Pikachu on the strap.

On the data side, the work is handled by Google Health. Using its algorithms, the app logs light and deep sleep stages each night and translates the raw metrics into clearer, actionable readouts rather than dense numbers. The Google Health Coach layers on top of that, analyzing trends over time to flag what is specific to a given sleep routine and surface personalized tips. Every band also bundles a three-month trial of Google Health Premium, which opens up the deeper tools in the platform.

The Pokémon integration is where the tracked data gets a second life. Once the device is linked, the Pokémon Sleep app pulls sleep-duration stats through Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iOS, syncing each morning. That duration converts into a Sleep Score, which multiplies Snorlax’s Strength to generate what the game calls Drowsy Power. The higher the Drowsy Power, the more Pokémon, and rarer sleep styles, appear around Snorlax the following day, while the Pokémon a player befriends gather Berries to keep raising Snorlax’s Strength. Waking up also draws Pokémon with sleep types similar to the user’s toward Snorlax, feeding a Sleep Style Dex.

Setup is a three-step chain that connects the health and game layers. Google Health is first linked to Health Connect or Apple Health so it can write sleep data into other apps, then paired to the Pokémon Sleep app through that app’s settings, after which wearing the tracker to sleep records sleep stages and duration automatically. The device works with all Google Pixel and Fitbit wearables and runs on phones with Android 11 or higher or Apple iOS 16.4 or higher, with a Google Account and the Google Health app required.

The Fitbit Air Special Edition Pokémon Sleep is available for preorder now, online and in-store, at the Google Store and Target, and starts shipping September 15.
