Montirex isn’t just a sportswear label. Over the years, it’s become a platform that has contributed to a number of causes supporting its community across the UK. Going a step further, the Liverpool-based brand now reveals its own charitable initiative.

The Montirex Foundation arrived during mental health awareness month with the mission of using grassroots sports to foster positive change. In its first programme, “Level the Field,” the foundation will work towards improving access and equity in sport, while the second, “Game Changers,” hones in on wellbeing through exercise. Though both projects will focus on the local Liverpool scene, the groundbreaking initiative has set its sights on expanding outreach across the country with both new and ongoing charity partnerships.

In an official statement, Montirex co-founder, Danny Yuen shared, “As a brand built from the ground up, we’re glad to have the chance to give back to the community that helped us grow. The Montirex Foundation is here to make a positive impact.”

To launch the initiative, Montirex produced a short film, titled “Break the Wall.” Taking the same name as its ongoing campaign with CALM charity, the visuals explore the power of conversation in stressful and challenging situations. It goes back to the brand’s work in mental wellbeing and using sports to forge lifelong bonds.

The film premiered last week at a special event spotlighting The Montirex Foundation. As well as screening the visuals, a panel talk also took place with the brand’s founders and partner athletes. Here, they spoke of the work they are planning to undertake as well as the events they will be hosting to promote the initiative.
