Handcrafted within the brand’s historic ateliers at 31, Rue Cambon in Paris, the unique garment represents a major milestone for the luxury fashion house, serving as the very first Chanel Haute Couture wedding dress designed by Matthieu Blazy for a close friend of the House.
The design is the direct result of an intimate creative relationship between Dua Lipa and the French fashion house, brought to life utilizing exceptional couture savoir-faire. To achieve the highly detailed texture of the garment, several specialized Maisons d’art contributed their unique craft to form the intricate embellishments. The gown is entirely hand-embroidered with 480,000 individual beads executed by Atelier Montex, layered alongside complex trompe l’oeil jewels that required 1,155 hours of meticulous needlework by Lesage. Emphasizing dramatic proportions, the dress features a striking two-meter train that is delicately underlined with 25,000 premium feathers by Lemarié.
The bridal ensemble is further expanded by a sweeping six-meter tulle wedding veil. The sheer veil was carefully hand-embroidered with matching beads and feathers, then enhanced with hand-cut organza appliqués to add depth and fluid movement. Completing the head-to-toe couture look, a pair of pristine white satin pumps were custom-made for the artist by the heritage shoemaker Massaro.
