Following its recent in-house denim debut, Denim Tears officially introduces its first in-line bag collection, blending technical detailing with the label’s rich cultural narrative. For designer Tremaine Emory, Denim Tears isn’t a static entity; it’s a growing world that he likens to building a home. “The world of Denim Tears is a house, and I’ve just added another piece of furniture to it,” Emory shared with Hypebeast; “None of the ideas are new — they’re all things that were talked about and planned from the beginning.”

While house-made denim and leather goods were always part of his vision, the designer has moved at an intentional pace, taking his time in shaping the Denim Tears universe. “You do what you can based on the means. It’s like an apartment: you’re gonna buy your bed first before you buy an expensive armchair to read a book in. The bags are my armchair, in a sense,” he explained.

Continuing the legacy of the iconic Cotton Wreath motif, the SS26 bag line pushes the brand’s signature into a new category historically dominated by luxury giants. “I love the overall quality and design of the bags, but the embroidery of the reefs stands out. It’s become about moving the reef across different staple clothing items — a bag, jeans, a hat — and taking these staples and bringing them into the world of Denim Tears,” Emory said.

The bags themselves are offered in heavy-duty 15oz cotton canvas and soft grain leather, in line with Emory’s bridging of streetwear and craft. The leather model features a highly adaptable silhouette equipped with a side button; when unbuttoned, the bag opens into a spacious tote, and when buttoned, it tightens into a more defined form. Available in Large (16.5 x 5 x 12.5 in) and Small (11.5 x 4.5 x 9 in) sizes, each piece includes a removable crossbody strap. Notably, with the leather carriers ranging from $390 USD to $590 USD, Denim Tears’ bags are offered at a fraction of the prices of most luxury maisons.
