When Summer calls, it’s time to bring out your French Workwear. With blue canvas and twill sets, maritime stripes, cooling cotton knits, and the like, American Ivy label J. Press has teamed up with 1938-born French label Armor-Lux for a limited edition collaboration.
Leading the collection is, France’s world-famous bleu-de-travail (or bleu-de-chine) chore coat is paired with matching twill pants. The style originated in the early 1900s when blue canvas sets became standard uniforms for workers. J. Press and Armor-Lux have rendered the iconic style in a faded blue, imbuing it with a feel of long-time wear.
Based in Brittany, France, Armor-Lux is also widely known for its signature Breton stripe marinière, based on the official French Merchant Navy uniform. The fisherman’s stripe is featured on tops, including tees, and crewnecks, as well as Summer-friendly cotton knitted sweaters. Ideal for Summer heat, the Fatigue Shorts in light yellow and blue feature classic patch pockets similar to military fatigues. Finally, for rainy days, J. Press and Armor-Lux have included new raincoats in bold yellow and black.
