Everyone’s favorite mustache-sporting highway patrolmen are officially returning to the big screen. Searchlight Pictures has announced Super Troopers 3, the third installment of the cult comedy classic from the acclaimed Broken Lizard comedy troupe. Fans can prepare for more syrup-chugging and hilarious shenanigans when the highly anticipated sequel brings its signature brand of law enforcement chaos to theaters on August 7, 2026.
Directed by Jay Chandrasekhar and written by the entire Broken Lizard crew, the latest chapter promises to up the ante on the squad’s legendary antics. The plot centers around Farva’s wildly over-the-top Indian engagement to the sister of Thorny. As the wedding preparations spiral into total disaster, the Super Troopers must navigate Thorny’s desperate and calculated schemes to break up the relationship.
While dealing with the ensuing marital mayhem, the crew is also tasked with doing their actual jobs: trying to crack a pernicious new drug ring. The squad must somehow manage to balance their hilariously inept police work with the ongoing family drama to save the day, and possibly the wedding itself.
The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, bringing back the core Broken Lizard members—Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske. Franchise veterans Brian Cox and Marisa Coughlan are also returning to the fold. Joining the chaos this time around is a massive lineup of comedic heavyweights, including Nat Faxon, Chace Crawford, Andrew Dismukes, Hannah Simone, Iqbal Theba, Sakina Jaffrey, Jon Rudnitsky, and Lisa Gilroy.
Produced by Rich Perello, Super Troopers 3 is poised to deliver the same irreverent, laugh-out-loud humor that has cemented the franchise as a comedy staple for over two decades. Get ready to pull over right meow, because the boys are officially back in town and hitting theaters on August 7, 2026. Watch the trailer above.
