Drake's 'ICEMAN' Release Date Is at the Bottom of This Ice Sculpture in the Bond Hotel Parking Lot
Set up in the middle of Toronto.
After skirting around any concrete details regarding the album’s release, Drake has, at last, officially fired up the ICEMAN rollout, revealing its release date in what might be his most grandiose promotional move yet.
Drake had a massive ice sculpture built in the parking lot of the Bond Hotel in the middle of downtown Toronto, and at the bottom, there is a piece of paper with the release date. He went big and went home.
The reveal of the Toronto ice pyramid also gives more clarity to Drake’s Instagram story last night. He shared a screenshot of an iMessage chat in which he sent a chat saying “It’s in,” attached to an image of two ice blocks. This led to ample speculation that the rapper was revealing that he had turned in the final album, but now we know it’s in reference to the release date.
To backtrack, last week, explosions were heard in Toronto, which, according to Instagram stories from DJ Akademiks, Anthony Fantano, and Drake himself, signaled the filming of the “Project Bot” music video.
To backtrack even further, Drizzy first formally introduced ICEMAN last July with his series of ICEMAN livestreams. It was on these three streams that “What Did I Miss” with Central Cee, “Which One,” also with Central Cee, and “DOG HOUSE” with Yeat and Julia Wolf, all premiered live.
Stay tuned as more information on ICE MAN materializes.
