DESCENDANT x Teva‘s “Hurricane XLT3 DCDT” is a masterclass in functional outdoor design. Arriving as the first-ever collaborative take on Teva’s recently upgraded Hurricane XLT3 silhouette, the new model grounds the Japanese label’s minimalist aesthetics in serious, all-terrain utility.
Constructed for performance across rocky landscapes, riverbeds, and urban environments alike, the sandal centers around a tonal, bluish-gray color palette drawn directly from DESCENDANT’s summer catalog. The upper system utilizes quick-drying recycled polyester straps secured by Teva’s signature Universal Strapping System and a FuseLock mechanism, ensuring a locked-in fit. A padded heel strap, marked with DESCENDANT’s classic HORIZON woven label, adds structural support and comfort for extended wear.
Beneath the foot, the architecture of the Hurricane XLT3 has been re-engineered for advanced impact protection. The functional top sole has been thickened by five millimeters, delivering a softer texture and enhanced shock absorption to reduce fatigue. On the bottom, a newly designed lug pattern integrates Teva’s proprietary non-slip Spider Rubber Endure material to maximize grip on slick or uneven surfaces. Subtle branding notes complete the utilitarian build, including a “DCDT+CETUS” graphic stamped onto the lateral midsole in matching gray, while Teva’s “FOR PLAYGROUND EARTH” slogan is concealed on the underside of the strapping tape.
