  • Designed to reflect its neighborhood, the location will continuously evolve through collaborations with local artists to celebrate New York culture

Meta is planting its flag in Manhattan with the official announcement that Meta Lab NYC is becoming a permanent fixture on Fifth Avenue. Following a successful pop-up run, the tech brand has secured a 10-year lease with Vornado Realty Trust to lock down the 697 Fifth Avenue space as its definitive experiential retail flagship.

The newly minted permanent location operates as an immersive discovery zone for consumers. Inside, visitors can get hands-on with the latest innovations in AI eyewear and dive into virtual environments powered by the Meta Quest platform. Moving away from traditional consumer electronics aesthetics, the flagship leans heavily into lifestyle and personal expression, aiming to showcase how wearable tech seamlessly integrates into daily routines.

Taking design cues from its immediate surroundings, the space is co-created alongside local artists to reflect specific creative themes. Meta Lab NYC will continuously evolve, serving as a dynamic platform to celebrate the international culture and personal style native to New York City.

“We’re proud to make a long-term commitment to Fifth Avenue, the heart of U.S. retail,” said Matt Jacobson, VP and Creative Director, Wearables, at Meta. “Our people-first approach to experiential retail is rooted in culture, creativity, and self-expression — and it’s driving meaningful sales and awareness of our AI wearables. Placing our flagship store alongside the brands that help define culture, will distinguish Meta Lab from traditional consumer electronics retail. There’s no better home than NYC to innovate, and we’ll continue to celebrate the community while making our products easy to see, try, and understand.”
