HUMAN MADE Inc. has announced the launch of Buffer, a new brand and project spearheaded by creative director Tetsu Nishiyama, renowned for founding WTAPS and DESCENDANT. The brand name reflects both a “buffer” between different values and a deliberate pause in today’s fast‑paced world, encouraging space for reflection and creativity.
The new brand encourages a departure from the efficiency-driven pace of modern life, offering a blank space for individuals to pause and cultivate their own sense of value through fashion. As a result, Buffer is positioned more as a community than just a label, likening its spirit to the warm, after-school relationship where seniors share knowledge and hobbies with juniors. To serve as a guide for this journey, the brand has introduced a “Pink Rabbit” mascot — a “pathfinder” intended to lead younger audiences into the deeper worlds of subculture and creativity.
Launching in April, the debut collection will feature four graphic T‑shirts and related goods, with designs contributed by a diverse roster of illustrators and artists.
