Summary
- Akai Professional has officially introduced its most accessible standalone sampler with the new MPC Sample
- The hardware features a built-in speaker, internal microphone, and rechargeable battery for computer-free production
Akai Professional has officially expanded its hardware lineup with the brand new MPC Sample.
Inspired by classic systems such as the legendary MPC60, this newly unveiled standalone unit is designed to deliver a highly portable beatmaking experience. Measuring at just 23.6 by 19.4 by 5.0 centimeters, the compact device is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that offers up to five hours of continuous use. To ensure creators can build beats completely untethered from a computer, the machine is equipped with a built-in three-watt speaker and an internal microphone for immediate sound capture.
The interface centers around 16 RGB-backlit, velocity-sensitive pads equipped with poly aftertouch to retain the expressive tactile feedback of traditional models. Visuals and waveform editing are managed through a 2.4-inch full-color LCD screen, which pairs directly with three real-time control knobs and a legacy parameter fader. Under the hood, the system provides 2 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, and microSD expansion for larger sample libraries. Furthermore, the sampler arrives loaded with over 100 factory kits and four robust effect engines to instantly spark creativity.
The Akai Professional MPC Sample drops March 24 via authorized dealers and select music retailers worldwide.
