SoHo TurboTax Celebrates NYFW With In-Store Fashion Showcases

To celebrate the tax-filing service’s arrival in the SoHo community, Intuit TurboTax is offering aspiring creatives an exclusive look behind custom fashion capsules produced in partnership with NYC designers Who Decides War (Téla D’Amore and Ev Bravado) and Kody Phillips. These collections are currently on display at TurboTax SoHo, the brand’s new tech-enabled store, which offers the community a seamless “done-for-you” tax filing experience with access to in-person qualified experts, equipped to handle all situations.

TurboTax will host two exclusive designer-led workshops, on February 21, breaking down how financial logic and support strengthens creative output for local design students aspiring to build their own business from the ground up. Drawing from their first-hand experiences, the designers will pull back the curtain on how they successfully balance entrepreneurial grit with artistic freedom.

First up, “Designed in the Details” will feature Kody Phillips, outlining the creative decisions and strategy behind his five-piece capsule. Phillips will discuss everything from his passion for statement-making hardware, his approach to fabric sourcing, and a deeper dive into the designer’s ability to create narratives through bespoke garment-making. The session promises a candid discussion on the financial logistics of scaling a luxury label, covering how to navigate prickly profit margins and the necessity of “sustaining a monthly cash flow.”

Following that, “Building the Business” will showcase the professional backbone of Who Decides War. Designers D’Amore and Bravado will share their journey from one-of-one releases to managing full-fledged wholesale and retail revenue pipelines. Attendees are encouraged to bring their portfolios, latest projects, and business questions with them for a chance to workshop with the designers.

Both workshops will also give students an opportunity to hear from a real TurboTax expert who can help answer questions about tax prep for individuals and small businesses, empowering this next generation of designers to confidently tackle their finances.
