J. Cole Reveals Double-Disc Tracklist for Long-Awaited ‘The Fall-Off
The Dreamville founder unveils 24 tracks just days before the arrival of his supposed final album.
Summary
- J. Cole has officially shared the tracklist for his seventh and purportedly final studio album, The Fall-Off, ahead of its February 6 release
- The project is structured as a double-LP consisting of 24 tracks divided into two sections titled “Disc 29” and “Disc 39”
- Executive produced by Cole, Ibrahim “IB” Hamad, and T-Minus, the album serves as a conceptual full-circle moment for the North Carolina rapper’s career
J. Cole has finally pulled back the curtain on the tracklist for his highly anticipated album, The Fall-Off. Revealed via social media on February 4, the announcement confirms that the project will arrive as a massive 24-track double-disc experience. Scheduled for a February 6 release, the album marks the culmination of a decade-long rollout that began with teaser verses and cryptic “Fall-Off Era” checklists, positioning this body of work as the definitive closing chapter of the Dreamville leader’s storied discography
The double-disc structure, categorized as “Disc 29” and “Disc 39,” offers a reflective look at Cole’s evolution. He explains that “Disc 29” captures the perspective of the rapper a decade ago, navigating his rise from Fayetteville to global stardom, while “Disc 39” provides insight into his current mindset as a 41-year-old veteran. Notable titles across the two discs include “Two Six,” “The Villest,” “Legacy,” and the previously released buzz single “(The Fall-Off is) Inevitable,” which initially appeared on YouTube under the placeholder title “Disc 2 Track 2.”
While the tracklist is now public, J. Cole has opted to keep guest features hidden for the time being, maintaining a level of mystery typical of his high-stakes rollouts. The back cover art features posters of his childhood inspirations, including RZA, 50 Cent, and Nas, symbolizing the “full circle” theme he intends for this finale. This release follows a creative re-inspiration period for the artist, who described the expansion of the project into a double album as a natural result of his growth following the high-profile rap landscape shifts of 2024.
