Summary

  • ASUS ROG and Xreal unveiled the R1 gaming glasses, featuring a 240Hz Micro-OLED FHD display
  • The wearable projects a massive 171-inch virtual screen with spatial audio
  • Compatible with ROG Ally, PCs, consoles; global rollout coming soon, price unconfirmed

At CES 2026, ASUS’s Republic of Gamers (ROG) partnered with Xreal to introduce the world’s first 240Hz micro‑OLED FHD gaming glasses. Designed to deliver immersive large‑screen experiences in a lightweight wearable form, the R1 projects a virtual display of up to 171 inches at four meters, covering 95% of the focused viewing area. The glasses integrate seamlessly with the ROG Ally handheld via a single USB‑C connection, while the included ROG Control Dock expands compatibility to PCs and consoles such as the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.

On a technical note, the ROG Xreal R1 is built around dual Micro-OLED displays that project a massive virtual screen, equivalent to a 130-inch display from several meters away. The glasses boast a crisp 1080p resolution per eye, a 120Hz refresh rate for fluid motion and a peak brightness of 600 nits, ensuring clarity even in well-lit environments.

A standout feature is the inclusion of ROG’s signature gaming enhancements, such as low-latency input and TUV Rheinland-certified eye comfort technology to reduce blue light and flicker during extended play sessions. Additionally, the glasses feature integrated “Ultra-linear” speakers that provide spatial audio to complement the immersive visual experience.

The ROG Xreal R1 is scheduled for a global rollout starting in the coming months, with an official retail price yet to be confirmed.
