Kendrick Lamar is officially a two-time Emmy winner.
Dot and music director Tony Russell took home the Creative Emmy for Outstanding Music Direction for their Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show performance. The show was nominated alongside The Kennedy Center Honors, The Oscars, SNL’s 50th anniversary special and SNL‘s 50th anniversary homecoming show.
The Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show Starring Kendrick Lamar set a new record as the most-watched halftime show in NFL history with 133.5 million viewers. Lamar was joined by Samuel L. Jackson, SZA, Serena Williams and Mustard as special guests.
The pgLang founder won his first Emmy in 2022 as part of Dr. Dre‘s Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show. They took home the award for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) with musical director Adam Blackstone.
