  • EDITION spotlighted photography and culture with a two-week pop-up at El Silencio in Ibiza
  • The program was anchored by a rare collaboration with renowned photographer Derek Ridgers

This past August, EDITION spotlighted photography and culture with a two-week pop-up at El Silencio in Ibiza, anchored by a rare collaboration with renowned British photographer Derek Ridgers. Known for capturing subcultures and nightlife across decades, Ridgers presented images from his celebrated book KU Ibiza 1984. The work, published as a limited-edition zine for the occasion, lined the walls of the gallery space, framing the residency with the energy of the island’s golden age of hedonism.

From August 15 to 31, the project transformed El Silencio’s pool deck into a reflection of EDITION’s signature aesthetic, merging refined hospitality with cultural programming. The setting featured lush greenery, curated playlists and bespoke details such as co-branded towels and Le Labo amenities. Guests explored programming that spanned live music, wellness sessions and culinary offerings inspired by EDITION hotels worldwide reinterpreted through an Ibizan lens.

The partnership culminated on August 29 with a performance by Lourdes Leon, known as Lolahol, whose layered R&B and trip-hop textures provided a closing soundtrack to the experiment in hospitality and art. George Fleck, Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader at EDITION, described the residency as “an expression of our commitment to pushing the boundaries in hospitality, art, and culture.” With Ridgers’ images as its focal point, The Summer EDITION pop-up connected Ibiza’s creative spirit with EDITION opening a new series of cultural residencies to come.
