The inaugural colorways of Anthony Edwards’ followup to the AE 1 have surfaced, releasing one by one starting October 1.

Days after wrapping his “Believe That.” China tour with adidas Basketball, NBA star Anthony Edwards’ second signature shoe, the adidas Anthony Edwards 2, has been unveiled in official images of the inaugural colorways.
“With Love,” “Fusion Blue” and “Lucid Red” are the first three colorways expected to arrive from the partnership. Priced $20 USD more than the Anthony Edwards 1 (AE 1), the $130 USD sequel may see some technical upgrades; however, adidas has not shared the exact specs just yet.
“With Love” represents an ode to Edwards’ home state of Georgia, centering on a peach-hued upper with pink and black accents. “Fusion Blue” maintains the black base while bringing in a Minnesota Timberwolves-inspired blue-green to mix. Finally, “Core Black” stays true to the name with all-black uppers, white soles and overlays, with red accenting the tongue and heel tab.
In a recent Q&A with Hypebeast during his China tour, Edwards expressed his excitement about the new model, “The 2s are next level. It’s lighter and more explosive and we’ve got some crazy colorways coming too.” When creating the concept for the adidas Anthony Edwards 2, he said, “We started with performance first.”
“The on-court feel has to be perfect. I need a shoe that moves the way I move. The adidas Basketball team built the design around that foundation, making sure that it performs at the highest level, but also still has a bold look and feels like the next evolution of the line.” When it comes to the on-court feel referenced by the hooper, rumors suggest that the AE 2 may be equipped with adidas’s Jet Boost cushioning.
