Two titans of the running space have just collided for a new collection, SOAR and Altra. The duo has assembled a complete trail racing system, maximizing performance capabilities thanks to SOAR’s penchant for high-performance apparel and Altra’s footwear expertise. This range, which was tested by elite athletes, is said to be “engineered for speed, protection, comfort, and control,” with race day gear that can handle the heat, long distances, and rugged terrain.
The centerpiece of the capsule is the duo’s take on the Mont Blanc Carbon. This pair of trail shoes is packed with trail race-ready specifications, including a sole unit that combines a full-length carbon plate for propulsion with a dual-density midsole and Vibram outsole. Its colorful “Prism” look matches the apparel, combining white with a variety of colors while also nodding to the two with co-branding. The remainder of the racing system starts with the Trail Race Top, a featherlight top that offers UPF 50 protection at the shoulders and upper arms. It also features abrasion resistant panels and ultralight mesh at the torso. Working in tandem with this is the matching lightweight cap. Rounding out the range is the duo’s Trail Race Shorts, which are constructed with RHEON, a reactive superpolymer developed from NASA technology. It reacts to the impact of running, stiffening for energy absorption and then relaxing for comfort. A waistband-free build is joined by integrated storage, emphasizing comfort.
