  • Inspired by butterflies, it’s crafted from maple and priced at €8,000 EUR

Set to unveil at Denmark’s annual design festival, 3daysofdesign, Fredericia is reintroducing Nanna Ditzel’s iconic Bench for Two, more than 30 years after its original debut in 1989. This sculptural and unconventional seating piece, celebrated for encouraging curiosity and connection, returns with a reissue that honors Ditzel’s visionary approach to design.

Crafted in Denmark in collaboration with Danish furniture brand A. Petersen, the relaunch includes the original black version, alongside three new vibrant colorways: red, yellow and pink. These additions reflect Ditzel’s enduring fascination with bold color palettes and expressive forms. The Bench for Two, with its striking graphic backrest featuring concentric circles and a single red dot, originated from a spontaneous sketch Ditzel made directly onto the prototype, further showcasing her intuitive creative process.

Inspired by the delicate symmetry of butterflies, the bench evokes natural grace and ergonomic clarity. Crafted from solid maple and veneer, it remains a technical and artistic achievement. The accompanying table is designed to complement the angles of the bench perfectly, forming an intimate setting. The Bench for Two and table are available exclusively through Fredericia with a price of €8,000 EUR excluding VAT.
