A very rare signed 1986-87 Fleer #57 Michael Jordan Rookie Card sold for $2.5 million USD, marking it as the highest-selling card of its kind ever sold at market. This sale saw significant global participation, with engagement from 50 countries. The card, graded PSA Mint 9, features Jordan’s signature which received a perfect Gem Mint 10 by PSA/DNA. It is one of only three cards in existence with this exact grading, and this sale marks the first time a card of this specific grade has been sold publicly.
The 1986-87 Fleer #57 Michael Jordan Rookie Card was among nine signed by Jordan at a private signing in 2024. The year 1986-87 is significant as it represents his breakout rookie season in 1984-85 and the debut of the iconic Air Jordan 1 sneaker.
