  • Design by Matteo Ferrari and Ciszak Dalmas blends local craft with architectural elegance

Aesop has opened its latest retail space in the heart of Madrid’s Las Salesas neighborhood, blending local artistry with architectural elegance. Designed by Matteo Ferrari and Ciszak Dalmas, the 105-square-meter store draws inspiration from Spanish Modernism and the nearby Palacio de Longoria.

Inside, the store features the “Trencadís” mosaic technique, with fragmented ceramics decorating the floors, counters and displays in a nod to early 20th-century design. Natural light filters through hammered “Cathedral” glass, illuminating freestanding sinks crafted from Spanish Wild Granite, glass and walnut wood.

A transparent portico anchors the rear of the store, offering a visual connection between front and back areas. Clay plaster walls and wood veneers complete the space with warmth and tactility, creating a refined yet inviting atmosphere for visitors. The Madrid outpost reflects Aesop’s continued commitment to architectural storytelling and local craftsmanship.
