Golf equipment company TaylorMade has just unveiled the R7 Quad Mini Driver, a new club that blends old-school inspiration with modern technology. Drawing from the iconic R7 driver released in 2004, this mini driver aims to capture that same magic for nostalgic amateurs while offering a legitimate option to take into competition for the top professionals.

The original R7 was famous for its adjustable weights, a groundbreaking feature at the time, and the new R7 Quad Mini brings this back with its updated Quad Weighting System. This allows golfers to tweak the club to control spin, distance, and shot shape by moving around weights in different ports on the clubhead. Another modern feature is the Infinity Carbon Crown, which helps reduce weight in the top of the club, allowing it to be redistributed for better performance (plus, it just looks sleek).

TaylorMade also included their Twist Face and Speed Pocket technologies. For the uninitiated, Twist Face is designed to help keep the ball on target despite off-center hits, while the Speed Pocket allows the clubface to flex more, harnessing extra ball speed, especially on shots struck low on the face.

The R7 Quad Mini Driver is available for preorder now for $480 USD and will be available for purchase on May 1st. It comes in 11.5° or 13.5° different loft options, and the design features black with red, white, and yellow accents, paying homage to the original club.
