Apple Rumored to Be Developing Two New Vision Pro Models
With the goal of creating AR glasses for the future.
Apple is doubling down on spatial computing. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company is working on two new versions of the Vision Pro headset, one that’s lighter and more affordable and another that connects directly to a Mac for ultra-low-latency performance.
The tethered model is aimed at pro users who need minimal lag, such as those using the headset for flight simulations or surgical imaging. Meanwhile, the budget-friendly version is designed to make the Vision Pro more accessible, with a lower price and more comfortable design than the original, which launched in early 2024 at $3,499 USD.
Though these updates are still in the works, Apple’s long-term goal reportedly remains true AR glasses – lightweight, everyday wearables that feel more like regular eyewear. While AR glasses may be years off, these new models could bring Apple closer to making that vision a reality.
