Above The Clouds' SS25 Lookbook Is a Study in Controlled Clash
Unexpected pairings, global heavyweights and off-kilter proportions come together in this Sydney-based retailer’s visuals.
Above The Clouds has never been one to follow the fashion playbook and its Spring/Summer 2025 lookbook is proof. Shot and styled in-house, the edit brings together an international roster of cult labels—Marni, Our Legacy, ERL and Eckhaus Latta, to name a few—and weaves them into a cohesive visual language that’s both offbeat and ultra-wearable.
There’s a raw softness to this season’s styling: Marni’s deconstructed tailoring and oversized knitwear are grounded by boxy cargos and vintage-washed denim. Our Legacy’s washed silks and languid shirting are layered effortlessly over sheer tanks, with proportions skewed just enough to feel new. Meanwhile, ERL brings its signature sun-faded nostalgia with slouchy polos and striped rugby knits that recall a warped California suburbia.
Elsewhere, Eckhaus Latta’s sheer, body-skimming tops are worn under sculptural outerwear, while Children of the Discordance’s embroidered layers clash beautifully with Camiel Fortgens’ DIY minimalism. It’s a collection of contradictions — hard and soft, loud and muted, polished and undone — but Above The Clouds threads it all together.
